His Grace, Bishop Seraphim, officially opened the Saint Arseny Institute at a prayer service on August 24th 2003, at Holy Trinity Sobor, where the Institute classes are held.
Serving with him was the Chancellor of the Archdiocese - Fr. Dennis Pihach, with priests; Fr. Robert Kennaugh, Manitoba dean for the Archdiocese of Canada; Fr. Anatoly Melnyk - rector of Holy Trinity Sobor and chaplain for the Institute; Fr. After the service the students, and other guests and visitors visited over refreshments in the parish hall. Introductions were made, and the Director of the Institute, Spencer Estabrooks welcomed those present and spoke briefly about the mission of the Institute around the theme from the Gospels “The fields are ripe for harvest. Pray the Lord of the harvest to send workers into the harvest.”
